If
any person is aggrieved by an order of the Competent Authority, he
can file an appeal, within 45 days from the date on which the
order is served on him, to the Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited
Property (ATFP).
The ATFP is headed by a Chairman who is a person who is or has
been or is qualified to be a Judge of the Supreme Court or of a
High Court. The other members of the Tribunal are not below the
rank of a Joint Secretary to the Govt.of India.
The Competent Authority is represented by Additional
Commissioner/Joint Commissioner for defending the order of
forfeiture
before the ATFP.
